Welcome To Westlake Village

Driving through Westlake, you’ll see attention to detail everywhere. This community was thoughtfully planned out, and is beautifully maintained. Even the freeway exits and overpasses are beautiful.

Westlake Village is the upscale part of town.  This is where you’ll find all the best restaurants and high-end shopping centers.  Despite being the social hub of the Conejo Valley, the area is actually quite small (population just over 8,000). Westlake Village attracts a Country Club type of clientele, while still maintaining the friendly, laid-back vibe of the rest of the Conejo Valley.

Living in the this part of town has its perks… but you will pay for it.  Westlake homes fetch the highest price of all the towns in the Conejo Valley.

Boundaries

Westlake Village is part of the City of Thousand Oaks. It sits on the eastern edge of Thousand Oaks.  It is bordered by Agoura Hills to the east, Oak Park to the north, and the Santa Monica Mountains to the south… which lead you over the hill to Malibu.

Places of Interest

You can expect the best of the best in Westlake Village. Everything here oozes luxury, but in a casual, friendly way. You can wear jeans and a t-shirt just about anywhere you go, and not feel out of place. Here are a few Westlake Village favorites:

  • Cinepolis Luxury Cinema – kick your feet up and enjoy dinner, drinks, and a movie. The food here is so good!
  • Westlake Lakeside Restaurants – take in the stunning views of Westlake Lake from any of the 3 lakeside restaurants.
  • Stonehaus – a favorite among locals. This outdoor mediterranean styled spot is fun for everyone. Meet a friend for a glass of wine, or bring the whole family for a casual meal, great ambiance, and live music.
  • The Promenade at Westlake – this beautiful outdoor shopping and dining center was designed by Caruso (who designed The Grove in LA) It features some of the best shopping and dining in Westlake. It’s also the best place to go for pictures with Santa & The Easter Bunny.
  • Westlake Plaza – this charming plaza has a mix of grocery stores, retail, restaurants, exercise studios, and more. There are so many good spots in here – but my favorite is Pearl District.
  • Four Seasons Hotel– for a fancier night out (or an overnight!) head over to the Four Seasons. Coin & Candor and Onyx both provide incredible cuisine, a high end vibe, and beautiful views. And if you’re in need of a spa day – be sure to call and ask about Wow-Me-Wednesdays for discounted spa services.

Schools

Westlake Village is part of the Conejo Valley School District – one of the best in the state!

Schools specifically in Westlake are known for their athletics programs, and a lot of parents send their children here for that reason.

Many of the schools here have been named A California Distinguished School, which honors California’s most exemplary and inspiring public schools.

Several of the schools here also recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools – a program that recognizes schools for their academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps.

What makes the schools here so great, is they are all “School of Choice” which means you don’t have to attend the school you are assigned to based on your address.
